WhatsApp, the world’s most popular instant messaging application, hosted a remarkable development in early 2023. In the iOS beta version of WhatsApp with the code 23.4.0.70, it was revealed that the option to send HD photos to the application will come. Now, this feature can be experienced by all users using beta versions of WhatsApp for iOS (23.11.0.76) and Android (2.23.12.13).

The new feature of WhatsApp that is being tested is the kind that will increase the experience of users. Because WhatsApp has been sending photos by compressing them until today, which caused a very serious decrease in image quality. The new feature, which has reached the testing stage, partially eliminates this situation. Users will be able to send photos without loss of advanced quality with the HD photo option.

Here’s what WhatsApp’s new feature looks like

As you can see in the screenshot above; When trying to send a photo on WhatsApp, you will see a new “HD” option at the top of the screen. Touching it, the user will choose whether to send the photo in standard quality or HD quality. Photos sent in HD quality will have a label on the chat screen indicating that they are in HD quality.

Let’s underline that the new feature of WhatsApp, which will reach all users very soon, does not send an image in its original quality. No matter how high resolution the photo you send, WhatsApp still imposes restrictions. However, we do not think that this will be very important. As a result, the image quality will be more than 2 times the standard resolution. This is quite a sufficient amount for most users.
