Warner Bros. Discovery announced at a press event Wednesday that HBO Max will now serve as Max and shared upcoming projects. On average, more than 40 new seasons of movies and TV shows will be added to Max each month. Max will begin airing in the United States starting May 23.Max subscription prices
Max will have three subscription options. The first two plans are the same as current HBO Max pricing, and according to the company’s statement, there will be no price changes for existing HBO Max subscribers when the new service becomes available. The third subscription option, Max Ultimate, will allow watching 4K UHD content on four screens simultaneously. Current Max (HBO Max) subscription fees are as follows:
- Max Ad-Lite ($9.99 per month or $99.99 per year): 2 simultaneous displays, 1080P HD, no downloads, 5.1 surround sound
- Max Ad Free ($15.99 per month or $149.99 per year): 2 simultaneous displays, 1080P HD, 30 downloads, 5.1 surround sound
- Max Ultimate Ad Free ($19.99 or $199.99 per month): 4 simultaneous displays, 4K UHD, 100 downloads, Dolby Atmos
Warner Bros movies are in 4K quality right after the theaters!
The Max Ultimate subscription will include an extensive catalog of content available in 4K UHD quality, including popular TV series such as Game of Thrones, The Last of Us, Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, The Dark Night Trilogy. Also, all Warner Bros. movies will be able to be watched in 4K quality on Max right after they are shown in the cinema.

Max will compile the best of Discovery with all the content of HBO Max. It will feature an extensive library of TV shows and movies in many genres, including true crime, reality, food, comedy, and more. There will be all HBO series and movies, Max originals and select shows and movies from Warner Bros., DC Universe, Cartoon Network, Turner Library, Looney Tunes, Adult Swim and more. There will also be real-life series from HGTV, Food Network, TLC, ID, Magnolia, Discovery and more.
