Hawaiian Airlines, together with aviation and shipping company REGENT, announced that they will develop a next-generation 100-seat all-electric seaplane, which will be called the Monarch. The new aircraft are expected to enter commercial service by 2028.
Can offer a range of up to 800 km
When the all-electric sea glider is complete, it will provide a new generation of surface transportation offering better values in cost, noise and emissions than existing regional modes of transport such as airplanes and ferries. Access route will be added.
REGENT says that the seaplane, which will be developed with current battery technology, will have a range of up to 290 km and up to 800 km with new generation batteries.
