According to reports in the Chinese press, the lead developer of Huawei’s HarmonyOS operating system, Dr. Wang Chenglu left the company. He was also the Head of Software Engineering at Huawei Consumer Electronics Group.

Chenglu in a sense confirmed the separation with the photo he published from his personal Weibo account. The reason behind the decision is not yet known. Chenglu, who graduated from Harbin Institute of Technology with a PhD in Engineering, joined Huawei in 1998.

Dr. Wang Chenglu served in many different positions in the Chinese company for many years. He is a name who led the development of HarmonyOS. The experienced engineer, who contributed a lot to the company, was last seen in public at the Huawei Developers Conference last October.
Incoming information is that Chenglu will join Shenzhen Kaihong Digital Industry Development, a high-tech company specializing in Internet of Things (IoT) operating systems. Hubble Investments, a subsidiary of Huawei, also has shares in the company in question.
