The Game Awards awards will find their owners tomorrow. However, although it was released only yesterday, Halo Infinite was named game of the year in the ‘Players’ Voice’ category. Considering that the voting started last week and the game was officially released on December 8, there was an interesting situation that could go into game history.

Halo Infinite became game of the year in one day

The Game Awards, where the heart of the game world will beat, is of equal importance to the Oscar awards this year, as it does every year.

Although the Games of the Year will be awarded by a jury formed by the press, there is also another award called Players’ Voice, where the players’ favorite productions are listed. Forza Horizon 5, Resident Evil Village, It Takes Two, Metroid Dread and Halo Infinite were the final games in these three-round awards, which started in the past days.

As you can see the results above, Halo Infinite was chosen as the game of the year with 35 percent of the votes, while none of the voting players had enough time to finish the story mode. Microsoft first rolled out the game with an online mode, and the story mode wasn’t playable until 6pm on Wednesday. Considering that 40-45 hours are required to complete the game 100 percent, this vote has thus passed into history.

Halo Infinite minimum system requirements:

  • Operating System: Windows 10 RS5 x64
  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 or Intel i5-4440
  • Memory: 8GB RAM
  • Graphic Card: AMD RX 570 or Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Storage: 50 GB available space.

Halo Infinite recommended system requirements:

  • Operating System: Windows 10 19H2 x64
  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X or Intel i7-9700k
  • Memory: 16GB RAM
  • Graphic Card: Radeon RX 5700 XT or Nvidia RTX 2070
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Storage: 50 GB available space.

Finally, we should add that Halo Infinite did not manage to be nominated in any of the categories to be given by the jury, as the game had not yet been released on the announced deadline for nominations. In this sense, if the game is liked enough, it will be nominated for The Game Awards 2022.

So what do you guys think of Halo Infinite? Do you think it could have won the game of the year selections if it was released on time? Please do not forget to share your views with us in the comments section.
