Halo’s place in the Xbox game library is really different. In addition to being the launch game of the first Xbox console, it is a game that has proven that you can play FPS on the console and have a lot of fun! It is a production on which TV series and comics have been made. We do not think that there is an Xbox lover who does not like this game. Speaking for ourselves, unfortunately, we had the opportunity to meet the Halo universe only with Halo Wars, an RTS game. We played the previous Halo games later with the Halo: The Master Chief Collection package. There were times when we looked back at the original footage while playing the perfectly reworked remastered versions. It is truly a game ahead of its time and we can understand why it is loved so much.
Bungie Inc., which makes Halo with Halo. With the departure of Microsoft from Microsoft after the first three games, 343 Industries floundered in the 4th game alone and upset the fans of the series a little. Afterwards, we think that the fifth game, Guardians, is a production where they can get closer to the Halo spirit. For Halo Infinite, the newest of the series, which coincides with the 20th anniversary of the first game, and therefore the Xbox, 343 Industries has done an excellent job, first the multiplayer modes and then the story mode in 2021, despite the great pressure on them and the brutal comments about the graphics quality during the year. He managed to deliver it to us as the last big game of . So, is Halo Infinite a game enough to make its fans happy this time, let’s take a look at it together.
The Halo spirit we missed is back with innovations

Halo Infinite would have been a launch game for the next generation console if it had not been affected by the unexpected pandemic conditions. However, when we look at the game right now, we can’t help saying that it wasn’t rushed. So Halo Infinite feels like a real Halo game. Modern add-ons attract attention, but the return to the essence is definitely felt. It was good enough to make the fans of the series forget about Halo 3, which is considered the best game. There’s a lot of action, and gunfights are as intense and full of surprises as they can only be in a Halo game. Enemies bend down and take cover, surround you, and if you stay in one place for a long time, they don’t hesitate to try to get you out with grenades. The hitting feel is quite satisfying. We also recommend that you do not forget to loot for weapons and ammunition before proceeding after clearing the area. Because you absolutely need it. The combat dynamics were one of the most beloved mechanics of this game from the original Xbox launch release, and 343 Industries has managed to replicate the emotion perfectly this time around.
Welcome Far Cry, sorry open world!

Of course, additions have been made to make it more suitable for today’s game standards. The first big innovation that Halo Infinite offers us is a scenario set in the open world. Although the beginning of the story, which also tells about the salvation of our Master Chief, takes place in a series of corridors and closed areas, where we fight with various enemies and more linearly as in the previous games, as we land on the planet near Zeta Halo, we are suddenly greeted by a Far Cry in space. We are not exaggerating, we are sure that you will have the same feeling as us while playing. Apparently, 343 Industries has been greatly influenced by Ubisoft 😉 There are some military bases that you can occupy on the Halo Infinite map, such as “Ubisoft towers”, where close attractions on the map are opened when you capture them. Once you capture these FOBs, they can similarly be used as a quick transfer point or a military base where you can get equipment and military support, including various vehicles.
This is how we think the ideal open world should be

Yes, maybe there are no NPCs around in this game that you can talk to and give you side quests. The activities take place a little differently. For example, rescuing a group of kidnapped soldiers or capturing an enemy military base or attempting to assassinate an elite enemy. By the standards of open world games, Halo’s world is actually not that big. However, when you consider that it is an action game, not an RPG, it is quite enough in our opinion. The map isn’t filled with pointless side missions to unnecessarily prolong the game, as in most other open world games. The side events featured here all work to advance the story and the player in some way. Of course, if you want, it is also possible to finish the game by just going from one main mission to the next on the map. However, all of the side missions return as bonuses in the form of new weapons or points that will allow you to unlock more vehicles.
Cool hook adds great fun to the game

In addition to the main Spartan Cores, there are also a few collectibles to find. These can be used to upgrade the Master Chief’s abilities. As we progress through the story, we can gain access to new features including Grappleshot, Thruster, Drop Wall and Threat Sensor. Of course, the most striking of these is our hook (Grappleshot), which is another innovation. We can say that this makes navigating the map much more fun than usual. Not only can we attach to enemies or grab weapons from afar for cool-looking melee attacks, we can also use it to lure ourselves onto almost any surface on the playing field. While the shield (Drop Wall) protects us in situations where we have difficulty in finding a cover, the scanner (Threat Sensor) feature that allows you to see what is behind the walls, including invisible enemies within a certain radius, is also very useful when you pin it somewhere. In fact, it is not possible to pass one of the bosses without using this feature. Let’s leave this here as a little tip.
Did you have to make the bosses so hard?

We didn’t have to use the Thruster feature, which allows us to suddenly run away in one direction. That’s why we recommend using valuable spartan cores primarily for hooks and shields. By the way, all these innovations have been fed into the game so well that it seems as if it has been there since the very beginning. In this regard, 343 Industries should be congratulated. Before I finish my notes about the story part, let’s not pass without mentioning the enemies at the end of the chapter. The bosses, who were in the middle of nowhere in previous games, seem to have sworn to root you out in Infinite. We couldn’t quite decide whether we liked or hated this new challenge, but you’d better get used to repeating the same boss a few times already, even if you still choose normal difficulty. I think the only thing we don’t like about Halo’s game mechanics has to be the driving dynamics. We couldn’t get used to managing vehicles using two sticks in previous games either. It always challenges us. Apart from that, we can say that all the mechanics work perfectly. As for the game time, we were able to finish the scenario in about 12-13 hours, including collecting most of the spartan cores, killing a few important targets and capturing most of the FOBs, which is quite enough.
The multiplayer mode is completely free!

Although we waited for the release of the story mode to let us review the game, the multiplayer mode has been released before and is completely free to play. To go over it briefly, the multiplayer modes here include most of them, from traditional genres that give victory to those who kill the most enemies, to more modern game types that give victory to those who complete certain tasks during the match. Abilities can also be used during team play, but unlike the story mode, the number of uses is more limited here. The multiplayer modes are really fun, that’s undeniable. However, the game’s XP system was criticized when it was released as multiplayer and has since been modified twice. It also lacks some of the popular multiplayer modes found in other similar games.
Although the visual development phase started badly, it ended perfectly.

Result

Halo Infinite was a bit of a visual joke in development, but it turned out perfectly in the end. The story of Halo Guardians picking up where it left off is again excellent. The open world, which is tried for the first time and used without abuse to prolong the game, is also very successful. We see the free release of the multiplayer mode as a right step in terms of introducing many new players to the Halo universe. The base game system is still addictive and enjoyable. Another advantage is that the game’s story mode is free within the Xbox Game Pass. If you’ve never played before, this might be a good opportunity to step into this impressive universe. We say don’t miss this most classic game of Xbox to get to know Master Chief, who engages in much more dialogue and expresses himself better than previous Halo games.
