Bo Shen, partner of Fenbushi Capital, revealed that he was hacked on November 23. He tweeted that malicious people stole $42 million from his personal wallet on November 10. At this time, it is worth noting that Fenbushi has a total of 39 altcoins, including EOS, in his wallet. Here are the details…

Fenbushi Capital’s partner hacked

Shen revealed that most of the stolen cryptocurrency was $38 million in USDC. Several blockchain security firms have revealed that other stolen assets are Tether (USDT), Bitcoin (BTC), and Ethereum (ETH). Shen reiterated that the stolen assets were his “personal funds” and had no influence over Fenbushi or related entities. Blockchain security firm Beosin confirmed the incident. According to the firm, the attack resulted from the compromise of a private key.

Another blockchain security firm, SlowMist, said that Shen’s Trust Wallet had been compromised. SlowMist added that it has confirmed that the wallet is the official release. SlowMist noted that some of the stolen funds were deposited into ChangeNow. Shen reported the hack to law enforcement. He said both the FBI and his lawyers were involved. Shen used the following statements:

Civilization and justice will eventually triumph over barbarism and evil. This is the iron law of human society. It’s just a matter of time.

Shen hopes his case teaches security protection

The founder of Asia-based blockchain-focused venture capital said he hopes his case will teach new and old users how to “do a good job at security management.” According to Shen, one of the first industry issues to address was “zero tolerance for misuse of user funds, theft of coins and fraudulent account theft.” He added that the hack will not deter him from supporting the Blockchain industry.

Fenbushi Capital’s portfolio includes EOS, VET, FLOW and more

Although Shen says that the hack is not related to Fenbushi Capital, it is useful to transfer the company’s coins. According to the Fenbushi Capital investments listing on CoinMarketCap, the company holds VeChain (VET), Flow (FLOW), EOS (EOS), Reserve Rights (RSR), Ontology (ONT). In addition, WOO Network (WOO), Siacoin (SC), MXC (MXC), Celer Network (CELR) are also included in the portfolio. Coins such as Status (SNT), Centrifuge (CFG), NuCypher (NU), Shentu (CTK), QuarkChain (QKC), NKN (NKN) are some of the coins Fenbushi has invested in. You can see the rest in the screenshot below:
