The cartoons or TV series that we loved watching in our childhood are now being turned into live-action films by utilizing the blessings of today’s technology. Seeing a production we love again in a new movie is sometimes quite enjoyable, and sometimes disappointing.
You may remember the movie Aladdin, in which Will Smith played the genie coming out of the lamp, released in 2019. Guy Ritchie directed this movie. Although the film was appreciated by the audience, it was hit by the critics. The reason was that the movie was fan service ( shot to please the fans, throwing the cinematography into the background ). Now we’ve learned that Guy Ritchie will be directing a live-action film of another childhood legend.
Guy Ritchie to direct live-action Hercules movie
Guy Ritchie is preparing to direct the live-action adaptation of the 1997 movie “Hercules.” The film deal was made by the Creative Artists Agency in Los Angeles. As you know, the 1997 Disney original Hercules movie was a musical .
Disney is at the beginning of this movie, but the Russo brothers , whom we know from Marvel movies, undertake the production. The first draft script of the movie is written by author Dave Callaham, whom we know from movies such as Shang-Chi, The Expendables and Doom . So we can agree that the movie will not be a musical.
Ritchie most recently shot an eponymous action thriller with Jake Gyllenhaal. He also wrote, directed and produced STX’s “ Operation Fortune: Ruse de guerre ,” which was scheduled for release in the first months of 2022 but has since been delayed without an official release date.
