Netflix is expanding its game library with three new games coming to the platform. But these are not ordinary games, but games of the much more popular Grand Theft Auto series. The GTA Trilogy: The Definitive Edition will be added to Netflix’s game library next month and subscribers will be able to play for free. On the other hand, these will be the three biggest games added to Netflix’s game library to date.
Of course, if you don’t want to wait that long, all three games can be purchased from the App Store and Google Play. Otherwise, you’ll be able to download all three for free starting December 14th.
This is definitely a big move for Netflix, but it’s nothing new. The company has previously added all kinds of games to its mobile library, including arcade games. Netflix game library already includes popular games such as Hades, Braid, Katana Zero and Dead Cells. In addition, the company also produces its own games. One of the company’s own games released this year was Oxenfree II: Lost Signals, developed by Night School Studio. For those who don’t know, this developer was acquired by Neflixback in 2021.
So Netflix is really beefing up its game library as it tries to become more than just a video streaming platform. It will be interesting to see which games the platform will include in the future. But one thing is clear: unlike other video streaming platforms where you pay for TV shows and movies, Netflix is heating up the competition by offering much more for its subscribers.
