GTA: San Andreas, which was released exclusively for Xbox and PlayStation 2 consoles in 2004, has been re-released for almost every current platform in the intervening 17 years. Finally, the production, whose graphics were renewed and overhauled with GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, is now being developed again for Facebook’s virtual reality glasses.

GTA: San Andreas is coming to virtual reality this time

A surprise announcement came at the Connect 2021 event, where Facebook’s new projects and especially the MetaVerse project were discussed. GTA: San Andreas, which will reappear with renewed graphics on December 11, will also be released for Oculus Quest 2, the virtual reality glasses produced by Facebook.

No other information about the game was shared from Facebook and Mark Zuckerberg. As of now, it is unclear whether the game was developed on the main version released for PS2 and Xbox, or on the Definitive Edition, where the graphics were renewed. However, Facebook stated that it has been working on the VR version of the game for years and they are looking forward to sharing more.

GTA: San Andreas – The Definitive Edition will meet with players on November 11, 2021, together with GTA III and GTA: Vice City. All three games will feature reworked graphics from the original titles and enhanced with the Unreal game engine. In the statement made by Microsoft, it was said that the game will be added to the Xbox Game Pass world from the day it was released.

So, what do you think about the re-development of the game for virtual reality? Do you think we will be able to see San Andreas with much better graphics? You can share your views with us in the comments.
