It turned out that WhatsApp, which is constantly coming up with new features to improve the user experience, plans to bring a special innovation to group calls. The new feature was spotted by WaBetaInfo in the latest beta of the Android version of the app.
The feature will allow users to schedule group calls in advance. We can say that this will be similar to the meeting scheduling feature we see on platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams.
How will it be used?
WaBetaInfo also shared a screenshot of how the feature will work. We see that it will be quite easy to plan from here. Users will have to enter the group they will search and press the search button in the upper right. After that, they will be presented with options to choose the date and time for the search.
A reminder can be set for calls. Users who set reminders will be notified 15 minutes before the scheduled call starts.
It is not possible to say anything about when the meeting scheduling feature will be available to everyone at the moment. However, the platform’s beta testing reveals that the feature may arrive in the near future.
