Soukos Robots, headed by Konstantinos Soukos, is an important company for Greece’s defense industry. Soukos Robots has been a leading and innovative company in the market for many years, producing everything from related equipment to environmental systems (waste treatment, etc.) and machines for industrial applications. However, as a result of all these successive crises, the company has faced major financial problems.

Greek Soukos Robots goes bankrupt

According to Greek media, Soukos Robots company, which also operates in the defense sector, is facing real estate tenders set for next month, including its main facilities in Larissa. This is due to accumulated losses amounting to 12.7 million euros and debts of 41.9 million euros. While Soukos Robots reports a very low turnover of 340,000 euros for the 2021 financial year, it predicts a new decline in the current 2022 financial year. It is stated that the company’s facilities will be disposed of through auction when some of the debts are paid to banks.

“Bayraktar TB2 Hunter” Anti-Dron System was introduced

Soukos Robots announced in recent months that it has developed an anti-drone system that will destroy unmanned aerial vehicles. The vehicle, named Minotaur, was described as “Bayraktar TB2 Hunter” by the Greek media. It was stated that Minotaur, which was launched as a laser-based anti-drone system, could also be added to navy ships. The anti-drone system mounted on a sci-fi-looking 8×8 armored vehicle (a modified Russian BTR) can be seen in the photos above. Speaking to state television ERT when the vehicle was introduced, Soukos described his creation as a robotic platform carrying a large 300 kWh laser unit.
