On the Android Auto platform, Google is preparing to take a new step to diversify the user experience. Once the company has changed the Google Assistant with Gemini, it plans to add several cartoon -style Arcade racing games that can be played on the vehicle screen with Android Auto’s 14.1 update. However, these games will only be able to play while the vehicle is parked.
Google announced the first game applications at the Pixel Drop event on March 4 at Android Auto. The first games introduced with the 14.1 beta update include Farm Heroes Saga, Candy Crush Soda Saga, Angry Birds 2 and Beach Buggy Racing. These games can be played using touch controls on the vehicle screen. However, the obligation to be parked draws attention as a security measure.
This new feature of Google was shown by 9to5Google through a video. In the video, a user connected with the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold device was called Beach Buggy Racing. According to the images, it seemed quite difficult to try to control the game with one finger by leaning forward in the driver’s seat. Nevertheless, it is thought that such games can offer a fun alternative for those who want to spend time in the car.
Optimization Problems and First Experience
It is also observed that some of the games are not fully optimized for Android Auto. For example, the Angry Birds 2 game could not be launched and then the application drawer has become dysfunctional by “graying”. In addition, the fact that the Beach Buggy Racing game continues to offer inclination controls shows that playing such games on the vehicle screen can be more difficult for some users. However, it is stated that some games such as Farm Heroes Saga work in harmony with automobile screens and offer a smooth experience.
Although the idea of playing games in a parked vehicle is interesting, it can be a more attractive option to watch videos on Youtube rather than playing a game on the vehicle screen for most users or to use mobile phones. In particular, considering that your phone is always at hand in the car, playing on the phone seems to be a more practical solution.
Google’s adding game features to the Android Auto platform can be considered as an important step towards enriching in -car experience. However, factors such as optimization problems of these games and control difficulties on the vehicle screen may take some time to make the user experience fully perfect. Nevertheless, this feature has an important potential to make the waiting time more fun.
