Polyphony Digital, the developer of Gran Turismo 7, has included a new artificial intelligence called Sophy in partnership with Sony AI.
Gran Turismo 7’s artificial intelligence system, called Sophy, is designed to push even the most prolific racers. Saying that Sophy is an artificial intelligence that makes you feel like you are racing against real players, Polyphony Digital also states that this artificial intelligence is trained to learn from the audience of the PS5 racing simulation.
However, Sophy is currently available in Gran Turismo 7 in limited capacity. Gran Turismo 7 players who want to play with Sophy can enter the “Race Together” mode, where they can experience artificial intelligence on several tracks.
This mod will also be available in the game for a limited time only, until the end of March. Polyphony says it will take feedback from players to improve Sophy, and it will take multiple attempts throughout the year.
