Trademark application filed for GPT-5
The team behind ChatGPT has now officially filed a new trademark application for a technology that could be considered the company’s next-generation language model. Although the application made in the USA on July 18 does not contain explanations about all the features of the next generation language model, it contains some important information.

As for the release date, the filing doesn’t provide any details on when the next-generation Large Language Model (LLM) will be released, but considering OpenAI’s release of GPT-4 in March this year, we can assume it’s quite a long time ahead. However, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said in April that they were not working on the GPT-5 model and that they would not start training the model for a while.
