Due to all the apps running in the background on our phones, we are constantly worried about whether the battery can last all day. And errors in some applications can cause the battery to run out faster from time to time.
The latest example of this has appeared in Google’s Messages app used on Android phones. A recently reported bug causes the camera to run in the background, causing both the phone to heat up and the battery to die prematurely.
Google has accepted the error and has taken action. Google communications manager Scott Westover announced that they fixed the problem with an update, and this update is spreading to phones. However, it should not be forgotten that it has not reached everyone yet and this may take some time.
If you haven’t received the update and you notice that your phone is unusually hot or the battery is draining particularly quickly, close the Google Mesalar app first. You can completely deny Messages permission to use your camera by going to Settings > Apps > Messages > Permissions > Camera and selecting “Don’t allow”.
