Google’s parent company, Alphabet, has announced that it is working on putting robots in its offices to perform daily tasks. Evaluated by Moonshot Factory, one of Alphabet’s subsidiaries and also known as X, the project is based on the fact that robots can perform simple tasks.
Moonshot Factory was founded in 2010 and is famous for putting forward some notable projects such as Google Glass, giant balloons with the idea of bringing the internet to the far corners of the world and Waymo for autonomous transportation.
The company is now developing robots that will learn simple office-based tasks like wiping tables, sorting waste, opening doors and arranging chairs in meeting rooms. The company has taught these processes to robots with a 4-month training. While it is stated that the developed robots can perform the given tasks with an accuracy of 90 percent, the company is now trying to increase the accuracy rate. After the development process, the robots will start working in Alphabet’s Mountain View office in the first place.
