Google has finally made an ambitious entry into the foldable phone war with the long-awaited Pixel Fold. The $1,799 Pixel Fold will compete with some strong competitors like Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 4. The phone is said to begin shipping to customers in June.
Pixel Fold’s two screens (front screen and foldable inner screen) have an OLED panel and a 120Hz refresh rate. The inner screen is covered with ultra-thin glass, offering a large screen area of 7.6 inches and 2K resolution when opened. The 5.8-inch screen on the front of the device is suitable for one-handed use. If you launch an app on the front screen and open the Pixel Fold, the app can continue on the inner screen without delay.
Pixel Fold cameras
Pixel Fold has a triple camera system on the back: 48-megapixel main camera, 10.8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, 10.8-megapixel telephoto camera. Two more cameras of 9.5 megapixels on the front screen and 8 megapixels on the inner screen are located on the device.
Google Pixel Fold is powered by Tensor G2, Google’s own processor, and 12 GB of RAM. It is accompanied by 256GB of storage and a 4,821mAh battery.
Google’s foldable phone comes with Android 13, the new version of Android. There are some features exclusive to foldable devices in this version.
