READING NOW Google’s Chrome breaks speed record on Apple’s Mac again

Back in March, Google proudly announced that Chrome is the fastest browser on macOS, as verified by Apple’s own benchmarking tool, Speedometer. This tool is used to test the responsiveness of the browser.

Now, the company has announced that its browser’s achievements have grown even more impressively, in a rather plain tweet from its official Chrome Twitter account, stating that Chrome on Mac is 20% faster than in March.

Chrome has apparently managed to score over 360 this time, which is a 20% increase over the 300 points it had with Chrome 99 three months ago.

Although there are not many details about the new developments, we can remind you that the performance benefits in Chrome 99 are due to the ThinLTO build optimization technique, the V8 Sparkplug compiler and short built-in calls. The source of the developments that provide new gains will probably be announced in the future.
