Google has begun work on building a Web3-focused team.
Google Cloud vice president Amit Zavery said in a letter to employees that while Web3 is still in its early stages, it has tremendous potential as customers ask us to increase our support for Web3 and crypto-related technologies.
Zavery told CNBC that the company wants to be the first choice for developers in the web3 space. However, he still noted that Google does not want to be directly part of the cryptocurrency industry.
Google said it will instead support developers who want to create Web3 software.
The Web3 team, which is planned to be established, will take place under the umbrella of Google Cloud.
