Google to send airstrike warning to Android phone users in Ukraine

Now, Google said in a blog post that it is working with the Ukrainian government to introduce an alert system for Android phone users in Ukraine. Thanks to this alert system, Android phone users in Ukraine will receive a warning in case of air strikes.

Google will notify android users before air strikes

Google recently said in a statement announced that Android users in Ukraine will receive airstrike alerts directly on their phones before expected attacks on their relatives occur. The system takes advantage of the low-latency warning mechanism created for earthquake warnings.

Google is promoting its Ukraine Alert app on Google Play Store, which will send airstrike notifications to Ukrainian Android users in regions with active alerts. Dave Burke, vice president of android engineering at Google, says the new alert system is rolling out today and will roll out to all Android phones in Ukraine in the coming days.
