Google started to block Ublock Origin in more browser
With the transition to the new extension standard Manifest V3, Google has started to circulate the Ublock Origin ad blocker for more users. According to Google, the new standard aims to improve privacy and security, but also prevents some advertising blocking extensions from working.

Showing warnings to users

In Reddit and X, some users report that Chrome has removed non -current extensions. Chrome, under the extensions tab in the browser taskbar, the affected extensions are closed and warnings that are no longer supported.

Google’s attempt to gradually remove Ublock Origin in Chromium -based browsers began in October, but in recent weeks began to be implemented wider. Apart from Ublock Origin, all extensions that have not been updated to the Manifest V3 are gradually terminated.

Ublock Origin plug -in users can switch to Ublock Origin Lite, which has more limited filtering capabilities than its predecessor due to advertising blocking restrictions.

Chrome will not be the only browser affected by the use of the Manifest V3. Like Microsoft Edge, other Chromium -based web browsers are also losing V2 support. The Brave browser says that all Manifest V2 items can only offer limited support when they are removed from the Chrome Web Store. Mozilla says Firefox will continue to support both extension standards.
