
Tapping Google Play’s search bar previously revealed the last four searches. Now, limited-time events and sponsored offers are popping up along with past searches. It is used to promote limited-time events, in-game events, or a sporting event. It was often featured prominently in card form on the Play Store. The search history now shows the app name along with the icon, rating and number of downloads.
Google Play also displays sponsored recommendations that are clearly labeled as advertisements. All these changes were announced in the Google system updates changelog for April and are being implemented gradually.
