With the iPhone 14 series that it launched last year, Apple also introduced the emergency SOS feature via satellite to us. The life-saving feature allowed the emergency services to be contacted even from points where there was no signal.
Now it turns out that Google is working on a similar feature. Spotted by developer Neil Rahmouni, the feature is available in partnership with Garmin Response, which provides emergency calls via satellite.
The satellite link feature, which is expected to come to Google’s messaging application, is available in more than 150 countries

According to Rahmouni’s share, Google will bring the satellite connection feature to the “Messages” application in case of emergency. In this way, users will be able to send messages to emergency services even when there is no signal.
Using Iridium satellites, Garmin can provide emergency calls to many different locations around the world. A partnership with Garmin also reveals that Google’s emergency feature can be used in more than 150 countries. Of course, it’s impossible to say for sure at the moment. The company may make changes until the feature arrives.
Google isn’t the only company working on the satellite link feature. Previously, Qualcomm also announced that it was working on a service called Snapdragon Satellite, which also works with Garmin. It was stated that phone giants such as Honor, Motorola, Nothing, Oppo, Vivo and Xiaomi can take advantage of this feature.
