Today, the first details about the Google Pixel 7 series have come to the fore. Thanks to some codes from 9to5Google, an idea of what the internal codenames might be as well as some of the phones’ features has emerged. First, it turned out that Google has a second-generation Tensor chip.
Information previously revealed by 9to5Google suggested that Tensor 2.0 may have model number GS201 and internal codename ‘cloudripper’. It seems that Tensor 2.0 may have an unreleased Samsung modem. Inside the Tensor processor of 2021 was the Samsung Exynos Modem 5123.
Pixel 7 series code names revealed
A few code names for Pixel series have surfaced. For a long time, all phones took fish names as code names. Then, for the Pixel 6 series, Google changed things and used bird codenames. It looks like the company is looking to change things up again in 2022. According to
9to5Google, the Google Pixel 7 codenames are ‘cheetah’ and ‘panther’ for the standard and Pro version, respectively. These also seem to be references to big cats. Here, too, we see that the two animals are the fastest in the world. Here, too, there may be a reference to the speed of the phone.
Google seems to be considering refreshing the codename references with each new generation. If the company changes to cat-related names with the Pixel 7, it means that it changes animals every time it releases a new processor.
