Introduced in October, the Google Pixel 6 series is on the agenda with a mind-blowing error. The smartphone has a feature called “Now Playing”, which allows you to find music playing outside. If the user allows, the Pixel 6, which switches to continuous listening to the surrounding sound, can identify music without sharing data with Google’s servers.
According to reports shared on Reddit, the Now Playing feature of the Google Pixel 6 sometimes produces ridiculous results. When the feature is activated, the phone tries to identify every sound (even if it is not a song) heard around it. This causes the sound to often be paired with music that is not even remotely related. Singer Adele and Dune film got its share from this situation.
Pixel 6 thought the siphon was Adele’s song
Many Google Pixel 6 owners shared their experience with the Now Playing feature on Reddit. One user reported that “every time I flush the toilet, my phone shows me Adele’s song Rumor Has It”. However, according to the user, there was no sound reminiscent of the song Rumor Has It at that moment.
More interesting than that, it happened to another user. A Pixel owner, who also shared his experience on Reddit, stated that the sound of brushing his teeth with an electric toothbrush in the morning was matched with the music of Dream of Arrakis in Dune, which was selected as the best movie of 2021 according to IMDb. There were also those who said that the electric toothbrush was identified by the Now Playing feature as the music of R. E. M. – The Great Beyond.
There are about 114 similar comments under the GooglePixel subreddit on the social networking platform. While it is not known why the Now Playing feature on Pixel 6 caused such confusion; It is estimated that there is a voice identification problem caused by artificial intelligence. On the other hand, the next statement on the subject from Google is eagerly awaited.
