Developed to rival platforms such as Skype and Zoom, Google Meet has received a new update. With the update, Google’s service gets an option that competitors like Zoom and Teams already have.

Available for paid users only

The calls offered by Meet in 1080p resolution are quite limited compared to other platforms. Currently available only in the web version of Meet, the feature can only be enabled for two-person calls. Also, the feature is only available for paid Google Workspace and Google One subscribers over 2TB. The update, which will be released on May 19, will have many restrictions at first, but google will roll out more generally soon.
