Google Meet animated background feature
Although it does not have many different themes yet, it is certain that the feature will make Google Meet users happy. The company has promised to add more animated backgrounds soon. It is also possible that Google will offer users the opportunity to create their own backgrounds in the future.

You can add animation to the background part, or you can blur it and prevent the place you are from being seen to a large extent. The feature was initially available for Google Workspace, G Suite Basic, and G Suite Business customers. From the end of September 2021, it was offered to all Google Meet users.
Although more options will be added to the animated background feature available in the Android application in the future, there are 6 different themes that you can use for now. In addition, the company has started to test the live captioning feature, which started to be offered to free users in Zoom last month, for Google Meet.
How to set animated background?
When using Google Meet, just follow the steps to choose the animated background in the desktop app.
- Open a Google Meet session.
- Before joining, click the three-dot menu at the bottom center of the screen.
- Click Change background or Apply visual effects.
- There are currently six preset animated backgrounds to choose from.
To choose an animated background on the phone, you can choose the theme you want from the sparkle sign in the corner of the small screen that shows your camera image during the call, next to other effects and normal background photos. An island with a sea view, the interior of a spaceship, under the sea, a party with a cute character, a classroom where students are pencils, or a nature scene.
