Announced in 2017 to make it easier for users to connect Bluetooth accessories to their Android phones, Fast Pair will be available on more devices, according to new information. Google didn’t offer Fast Pair on Android devices shipped without Google Mobile Services (GMS) until now, but it looks like that will change with Android 13.

Fast Pair experience on more devices with Android 13

It had integrated Fast Pair into the Nearby platform, which Google introduced to enable fast and seamless pairing of supported devices without the need for manual pairing. This means that device manufacturers who choose to ship Android without GMS will not be able to take advantage of Fast Pair.
