READING NOW Google may delete hundreds of apps from the Play Store next month. But why, which apps will be affected?

Many countries have legal barriers to apps or services from obtaining call logs from smartphone users. For this very reason, Google has deprecated some associated APIs in recent years. This work was carried out within the framework of the company’s policy to improve security and privacy on its mobile platform.

The internet giant has now made a change to its policy and announced at a developer webinar that Accessibility APIs cannot be used for call recording purposes. Recently, many developers have started using these APIs to circumvent Google’s policies against call recording. After May 11, when the policy change takes effect, it will no longer be possible to do so.

So what does this mean? It can be briefly explained as follows: Third-party apps used to record calls in the Play Store will no longer work. This change does not affect phones that come with the call recording feature, such as Google Pixel and Xiaomi. We will see next month whether these applications will only stop working or completely delete them from the Play Store, in accordance with this new policy of Google.
