There are various sites and apps that will allow users to find songs they don’t remember the lyrics to. Google Assistant is one of them. Google says this feature is in testing for YouTube. YouTube will gain the functionality to search for songs by humming and save the song found.

According to Google’s statement, users will first need to switch from YouTube voice search to song search. They will then need to sing or record the melody of the song for at least three seconds. When YouTube identifies the song, it will redirect to the official video clip, Shorts video, or user-uploaded video.

Finding songs by humming is being tested with a small number of YouTubers. Because Google has labeled this feature as testing or trial, there may be changes before it’s available to everyone. We hope this feature comes to the YouTube Music app as well.
