Google now wants to take its place in the smart watch market. The tech company has been working on wearable device projects that can compete with the Apple Watch for years. There were even a few attempts. But recent Pixel Watch rumors point to the company’s plans.
Business Insider and The Verge have suggested that the design of the smartwatch in question will be round and lack the physical bezel. Here are the claims about other features of the device…
Google will launch its smartwatch model in 2022
Google’s Pixel hardware group is developing the watch, rather than Fitbit, which Google bought for $2.1 billion earlier this year. Other details about the smartwatch have also emerged. Accordingly, they stated that the device will have a heart rate monitor and a pedometer. However, the device will also house other essential health sensors.
By the way, what name will Google release this smartwatch model? Nobody really knows this right now; outside of Google. The final brand for the device is not yet clear. The watch is sometimes referred to as the ‘Pixel Watch’ or ‘Android Watch’. In addition, the existence of a smartwatch codenamed ‘Rohan’ was previously reported by YouTuber Jon Prosser.
The Verge also made a claim about the price of this smartwatch. He stated that the device will cost more than the Fitbit models and will compete directly with the Apple Watch. Accordingly, the company’s most expensive wearable right now is the $299 Fitbit Sense.
So, when will Google introduce the smartwatch model? Of course, there is an argument about this too. The device is currently in test version. The tech giant is planning a launch for next year. But if the final tests are successful, it could be released even in the spring. Meanwhile, the device will have Fitbit integration.
