Recently, Google launched Google Play Games PC, which allows Google Play games to be played on the computer officially, in 5 countries. It seems that the tech giant’s vision is much bigger.
According to the news, Google is developing a project to make all Android applications work officially on every platform. The company is preparing to provide Android developers with a tool to ensure that their applications work properly on every platform, let’s take a look at the details together.
Google’s new cross-device software development kit
In a blog post, Google announced that it has released a new cross-device software development kit that includes the tools developers need to make their apps work properly on Android devices and non-Android phones, tablets, TVs, cars, and more.
The new software development kit allows developers to do three important things with their apps: discover nearby devices, establish secure connections between devices, and host an app’s experience across multiple devices. The new cross-device software development kit developed by Google uses Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and ultra-wideband to provide multi-device connectivity.
The cross-device development kit is currently available in developer preview and only works on Android phones and tablets for now, but Google is looking to expand support to multiple platforms eventually, including iOS and Windows. However, there is no word on when that will happen. What are you thinking? Please do not forget to share your thoughts with us in the comments.
