If you’re looking for new things to try on YouTube, the company is testing an easy way to increase video playback speed. The last tested feature is that after you long press anywhere on the player, it starts playing the video at 2x speed.

If you are a Premium member, you can try the feature, which will be available until August 13. You can enable this feature by tapping your profile picture in the upper right corner of the YouTube app.

This feature works on Android and iOS devices, as well as in your web browser, where you can click and hold using a mouse or trackpad. If you don’t see this feature in your account yet, or if you don’t have a premium subscription, it’s still possible to play videos at higher speed using existing paths. You can tap the gear icon in the video player and select the desired playback speed.

You can enable this feature in the YouTube app until August 5th, but keep in mind that you can only try one test feature at a time. Feature trials are tests YouTube runs to measure users’ response to features and get feedback for improvement.

Users also noticed that another YouTube feature called Stable Volume is gradually rolling out to devices. It is not yet known exactly what the feature will be used for, but it is speculated that Stable Volume was designed to keep the volume level in YouTube videos the same.
