Work on the Fuchsia operating system, which Google started years ago and launched last year, continues intensively. Google wants to run Android apps built-in.
The next stage in the Fuchsia OS platform
The Fuschia OS platform, which was made available for smart displays last year, is completely open source and developers can make whatever changes they want. Google, on the other hand, does not give clear information about the future of this project. In this regard, the rumors are also going around.
Can Google’s new operating system, Fuchsia OS, replace Android?
Fuchsia OS was normally able to run Android apps with the emulator, but this introduced throughput issues. In 2019, a project called Starnix was started to run Android Runtime builds on AOSP, but it was stopped last year. Last week, the source codes were completely removed.
Sources state that Google is working on a new solution to run Android and Linux apps with built-in. This will pave the way for the transition of Pixel phones to the Fuchsia OS platform, as well as Android and Chrome devices. It is even stated that Samsung contributed to the project. So in the long run, Samsung devices and smart televisions may also make the transition.
