Seven years ago, Google started offering users a way to purchase domain names without having to deal with a domain name provider. This service, named Google Domains, is now out of beta as a full-fledged product.

Google says that to date, millions of people have used the service to manage a domain. Over the years it has added more features and tools to Domains. People in 26 countries can now use the full version of the service.

Predictably Domains are offered in conjunction with other Google services. Customers can use their domain names in their e-mail addresses. With Google Sites, you can create a website or store and use it in a business profile on Maps and Search.

Google’s DNS and security tools are also included in this service. There’s also the option to create a site or create a store for a domain purchased through Google through platforms like Wix, Shopify, Squarespace, Weebly, and Bluehost.

Google offers new and returning users a discount until April 15th as Domains becomes a completed service. With the code DOMAINS20, it is possible to get a 20 percent discount on a single domain registration or a domain name transfer from another registrar.
