Another YouTube feature has reached the end of its life. The company announced in a blog post that YouTube Stories has been terminated. According to the company, users will not be able to share stories as of June 26. The feature will also be officially shut down seven days after this date. So, if you have something temporary that you want to post on YouTube, you may not have much time left.
The company states that it’s deprecating Stories as other features like Shorts, Live, and Community already give creators on the platform the tools they need to engage with their audience. As Stories is discontinued, these core features that allow content development on YouTube will be prioritized.
However, although YouTube’s description focuses on the focus shifting part, it can be guessed that the feature has been removed, probably due to not being used much. While Stories is one of the things you’d expect to see on Instagram, it wasn’t a highly anticipated feature on a platform like YouTube.
