Budget-oriented model is not in the plan
For those who don’t know, Google has included mainstream devices in the Pixel series since the Pixel XL model introduced in 2016. But for a while, the company has been rumored to be working on budget-oriented devices. Nanda Ramachandran from Google clarified the current allegations. Accordingly, Google thinks that making a budget-oriented Pixel device will lead to “too many compromises”, especially in artificial intelligence, camera and security.
Therefore, the search giant will maintain its existing product range instead of new devices. Nike’s upcoming Pixel 8a is said to retain the Tensor G3 and camera design used on the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro. We can say that this confirms the company’s current plans. Another reason for this may be that the company is at the beginning of the Android ecosystem. Because a budget-oriented device may harm the brand awareness of Pixel devices.
