The logo of Google Chrome, which first appeared in 2008 and had a bright, three-dimensional and glamorous logo at that time, had changed three times until today. According to a recent report, the Google Chrome logo is changing for the fourth time.
The first logo of Google Chrome, as we mentioned, was a three-dimensional and heavily illuminated logo. At that time, these elements of course made people say, ‘Look how technological it looks’. Later, the logo became two-dimensional in 2011 and had lighting + shading. In the logo change in 2014, Google removed the lighting.
A simple logo: Shadings are removed from the 2022 Google Chrome logo
With the logo change of Google Chrome, which took place 8 years later, the shadows in the logo are removed and we are left with a plain and simple logo. When the shadings are removed, it can be seen as if the logo colors have been thinned, but this is not because the shadows are removed, but because the white circle around the blue circle is enlarged.
In addition to the removal of shadows, the colors in the new logo have been made even more vivid. In this way, Google aims to offer a logo that is more suitable for Chrome’s modern brand definition. However, the logo does not have a standard design because it has different looks on different platforms.
Google Chrome Windows 10-11, macOS, iOS and ChromeBook logo
The Windows version of the Google Chrome logo will get a more vibrant color look to match Microsoft’s new fluid interface. But the Chrome OS version will get a completely solid color version to match the other system icons. On Macs, the logo will cast a shadow on the white square it is in.
The new Google Chrome logo update will gradually roll out to all devices over the next few months. What do you think about the logo update? Please do not forget to share your thoughts with us in the comments.
