New, improved memory saving mode is coming
The new mode will allow Chrome to save system memory by keeping tabs that are likely to be revisited and discarding tabs that are unlikely to be opened. The new probabilistic mode is available in Chrome Canary version 121 and can be enabled by typing “chrome://flags/probabilistic-memory-saver” in the address line.
According to Google data, users revisit tabs placed on hold to save memory 60% of the time within 24 hours. With this information, the company developed probabilistic mode that can help Chrome predict which open tabs are safe to close to save memory.
