Statcounter has released its August 2022 report, which reveals the latest statistics on browsers and operating systems. According to the findings, not much has changed in the browser market since July 2022. Some browsers have lost some of their share, while others have increased their user base.

Google Chrome remains the most popular option with a share of 67.33 percent. In August 2022, the browser scored 1.19 points, again outstripping its competitors.

Microsoft Edge ranks 2nd with 10.91 percent. As in previous months, Edge enjoyed modest market share gains, gaining just 0.05 points.

Apple Safari is one of the top 3 desktop browsers, down 8.83 percent and -0.14 percent in August 2022. Finally, Firefox ranks 4th with 7.4 percent (-0.67 points decrease).

The most used browser in the mobile market

The situation is similar in the mobile market, but this time Microsoft Edge is in the “Other” section. Google Chrome is first (65.04 percent, -0.12 points), Apple Safari is 2nd (24.59 percent, +0.36 points), and Samsung Internet is 3rd (4.81 percent, -0.05 points). Opera, UC Browser, Android and all other mobile browsers share the remaining 5.56 percent of the market.
