The microblogging and social media platform Parler, which has made a name for itself in the USA and mostly hosts Trump supporters, conservatives, conspiracy theorists and far-right, was removed from the Google Play Store about 1.5 years ago. In fact, Amazon had canceled Parler’s AWS service.

Apple had taken back the application, which was also used in the US Capitol raid, to the App Store in May 2021. Now, it has been revealed that Google has taken the application back to its store after about 1.5 years after removing Parler from the Play Store.

Funded by a Republican, Rebekah Mercer, Parler is frequently used by Trump supporters, as we mentioned today. The app was removed from the Google Play Store in 2021 for ‘inciting violence’.

Parler, who defines himself as the platform of free expression, announced on his official Twitter account that the application has returned to the Google Play Store. Parler agreed to take into account the audits made by the Google Play Store, so Google took the app back to the store.

Regarding the development, Parler’s CTO says: “While we were away from Google Play, we worked to develop an app with more features and a dynamic user experience. Now is the time to join Parler and express yourself freely on the non-partisan platform.” What are you thinking? Please do not forget to share your thoughts with us in the comments.
