Google Bard gets precise location support
According to reports, Google Bard is getting the highly anticipated precise location feature as of June. This feature will work similarly to Google Search, and will leverage a combination of information from users’ Home and Work addresses linked to their Google Account, IP addresses, and the exact location of their devices. However, it should be noted that it will need location permission to be active.
The latest update to Google Bard includes improvements to the user interface as well as precise location support. Users will now be able to switch between the light/dark theme button positioned in the lower left corner of the Bard interface. Also, Bard offers an interesting insight into the underlying algorithms, along with an explanation of how the user’s city is derived.
For those who don’t know, just last week Bard gained a new feature that allows users to get visual responses as well as text-based information. Also at the I/O 2023 event, Google showcased a host of new features and previews. We can say that the newly added precise location support follows these innovations that focus on the general user experience.
