While the CES 2022 event continued rapidly, some companies had given up attending the event after the increasing COVID-19 cases around the world. One of these companies was Google. Although Google did not physically attend the event, it started to show what it would announce at CES 2022, either in writing or visually. The company showed off new Android innovations scheduled for release in 2022.

Announcing through a blog post, Google detailed three innovations that will come to Android. These innovations included quick connect between devices, improvement in locking devices, and taking integration with other devices to the next level. The details of the innovations announced by Google were as follows:

Connecting devices will now be easier:

Fast Pair feature, which is one of the areas where Google focuses on the most development, makes connecting Android phones to other devices via Bluetooth a much faster process. In a new statement, the company announced that it plans to offer Fast Pair support for devices such as televisions, smart home products and Chromebooks.

Your phone can be unlocked from devices such as smartwatches:

Today, users have the ability to unlock their Chromebook from their Android phone. Google plans to expand this to unlock Android phones with WearOS smart devices. However, the company will also adopt Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology and take car integration to a higher level. Thus, Android users will now be able to unlock the car without taking the phone out of their pockets, instead of keeping the phone in the car lock.

Integration with other devices is being developed:

According to Google’s statement, people with more than one device in 2022 will be able to interact with cross-device data and media at a much better level. For example, while a person is watching a movie with a headset on their tablet, the headset will automatically connect to the phone when their phone rings. When the call ends, the headset will be reconnected to the tablet.

In addition, Google will implement services such as remotely cooling and heating the interior of your car, unlocking and closing the lock and getting information about the status of the battery through voice commands, in vehicles with Google Assistant. This feature will first come to Volvo vehicles in the coming months.
