Google made new announcements in many areas at the I/O 2022 conference that took place recently. Android Auto, which the company has been using in cars for a long time, was among them. Announcing that it will update the Android Auto user interface, Google will finally give the expected support for cars with larger screens.
New user interface according to the innovations announced in Google’s session on Android for cars; It will make it much easier to navigate, control media and communicate with others while driving. Android Auto, which will consider a flexible use for screens of different sizes in cars, standardizes the split-screen view on all devices so that directions, music and texts can be seen at the same time. So the driver will be able to see everything clearly in front of him, without having to scroll through a series of menus and settings.
Alongside this, Google is also improving its support for adaptive layouts that can more easily adapt to the growing variety of displays in new cars. Thus, even if the screen on the front panel is in a wide or vertical form, the new Android Auto interface will not cause optimization problems, and all information will be displayed according to the screen form.
Finally, explaining that it will offer a wider choice of in-car entertainment in video streaming applications for cars such as Ford and Volvo with Android Auto-based systems, Google also says that in the near future, it will allow passengers to stream content from their phones to the built-in screens of the vehicles. However, there is no clear date for this yet.
