Google is going to a new arrangement in the Play Store, which hosts more than 2.8 million applications in total. The software giant has announced its new policies for Android apps in the store that are significantly out of date.
Will increase user security
According to reports, the company aims to reach the desired API (Application Programming Interface) level for all applications in the store within two years after the latest shared Android version. However, applications that do not reach the specified level will be announced on the Android Developer Block and their installation on devices will be blocked.
Saying that the new decision was taken to “protect users from installing old applications that do not have protections”, Google said that “the vast majority” of applications follow the set standard. Although this is true, we can say that many applications today carry security risks and violate user privacy.
Android users beware!
In the past few years, Play Project, which has introduced new security measures to the Play Store and enables applications to be scanned with the help of machine learning, has been released. The company announced that the new changes will take effect on November 1, 2022.
