Gaining great momentum on both console and PC platforms with the Xbox Game Pass system, Microsoft can bring the popular Quick Resume feature of Xbox Series X/S to Windows. As you may recall, this feature allows multiple games to run on the console. Thus, users can switch between different games without waiting.

Xbox’s beloved feature is coming to Windows!

As you know, after the Steam Deck signed by Valve, there is a great activity in the portable console market. In recent days, we have seen the introduction of new Windows-supported handheld consoles, including Asus ROG Ally and AOKZOE A1 Pro. Apparently, this situation also gives impetus to Microsoft’s work.

In this context, Xbox hardware head Roanne Sones, who made statements about portable handheld consoles, confirmed that Windows is bulky especially in handheld consoles and stated that they are determined to bring features such as Quick Resume to PC games.

New features for gamers on the way

Today, Microsoft, which successfully brings features such as DirectStorage and Auto HDR to the PC platform, will apparently continue to delight the players. It should also be noted that this is not the first time that new news has come to the fore.

In an interview with Digital Trends last year, Xbox Series X/S developers Jason Ronald talked about the challenges of bringing Quick Resume to PC and said that its feature stores every suspended game in a virtual way, then saves the machine’s state to the SSD.

While it has been confirmed that Microsoft is working on a Windows-based Quick Resume feature, no date has been shared for it. However, we can say that if it is put into use, it will need SSD solutions with high read and write speeds.
