NVIDIA had designed a hashrate limit for the RTX 30 series. In other words, when mining is requested with the graphics cards of this series, a software obstacle comes into play. Thanks to this obstacle, the graphics card is deliberately rendered inefficient for mining. Thus, it was a nightmare for those who did not leave stock for personal users by purchasing graphics cards in batches. But apparently that protection was smoke.
RTX 30 series can mine unlimitedly with this software
Since the introduction of the RTX 30 series, the mining barrier has not been overcome. Although NVIDIA has already failed from the beginning with the lock it has put on some models of the RTX 20 series, we can say that the RTX 30 series has been good today. A software appearing on GitHub claims to remove hashrate lock on RTX 30 series graphics cards. Although the full version has not been released yet, the published early access version can unlock cards. The published graphic also shows which graphics card can reach which MH/s ratio.
As written in this image, excavation speeds of 49 – 115 MH/s can be reached with RTX 30 cards. Without the software on GitHub, it was not possible to reach these speeds. The hashrate limit can be removed when some changes are made by accessing the BIOS of the video card. However, this is not an easy task as it sounds, so it took more than 1 year to see the first breakage pattern.
As the graphics card market slowly returns to normal, the release of this software could make things worse. This week, we shared with you an analyst’s claim that graphics card prices will decrease. We will probably not see a sudden fluctuation in graphics card prices, but if this software can really provide stable mining, this will be a new crisis.
