Developed by British game company Rare and published by Nintendo, GoldenEye 007 debuted for Nintendo 64 in 1997 and has since become one of the most iconic video games. Inspired by the James Bond movie GoldenEye, which was released in 1995, the production allowed us to step out of the adventure as the famous spy James Bond. The game also had a multiplayer mode. This mode, which can be played with up to four players, allowed us to compete with our friends in different scenarios with split screen.

Now, there is news that will delight the fans of the legendary game. Nintendo announced that the renewed version of the popular production will come for both Nintendo Switch and Xbox at the Direct event held today.

Coming soon to Xbox Game Pass

Developer Rare also confirmed the arrival of the game, saying, “Experience GoldenEye 007 recreated for Xbox consoles, 25 years after its release date.” While the company said that the game will be in 4K resolution, it added that it will come to Xbox Game Pass.

In addition, Craig Duncan, one of Rare’s managers, also gave some details about the game. According to Duncan, 4K resolution has been added to the GoldenEye 007 as well as improved control options such as dual analog stick support. It was also stated that the story and the iconic multi-screen multiplayer mode will also take place in the game.

The refurbished GoldenEye 007 will arrive on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S as part of Game Pass. On the other hand, Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members will have the game. Although it is stated that the production, which excites gamers, will come to these platforms ‘soon’, the exact date is not yet known.
