In February, Google announced the new Gmail view, which provides deeper integration of Meet, Spaces, and Chat. You had to sign up to try the new interface; i.e. you had to manually enable the option to see the new Gmail web interface.
Some users were given the option to switch to the old interface. This situation is changing now. The new UI will be activated automatically. The layout that forces Chat and Meet to use is also changing.
What will the new Google view look like?
With the new design, Google wants to turn Gmail into a one-stop productivity web app. The integrated view eliminates the need to switch between tabs to continue conversations or join a video call. If you’re only interested in reading your emails, you’ll have the option to disable Chat and Meet in the quick settings and just use Gmail.
Apart from keeping Chat, Meet, Spaces separate, the most obvious changes are the new blue background, the new mail creation button and the Material You layer, which gives the user interface a simpler look.

If you only use Gmail, Chat and Meet will not appear as part of the new layout. Google states in its announcement that with the updated skin, you will only meet Gmail with a special view; Chat, Meet, Spaces integration will be disabled automatically.
If you have come across the new Gmail interface without making any settings at the moment, you can go back to the old Gmail view by clicking Settings in the top right and searching for the shortcut to return to the original Gmail view. But this option will not be valid for long. Google will eventually introduce everyone to the new design.
